HyperTerminal

HyperTerminal is another accessory which remains unchanged from Windows 95. You can use it to connect to a remote computer, even if that computer is not running Windows. It is ideal for sending and receiving files, or to connect to computer bulletin boards and other information programs. When you launch the application it automatically prompts you for a connection description, which leads you through a simple wizard-like set-up process. Sending and receiving files can be performed by utilising the commands in the Transfer menu, where you can specify the name of any files and determine the Protocol. Also accessible from the Transfer menu is the ability to save a HyperTerminal session to a file. This is achieved by using the Capture Text command and specifying a name and destination for the file. To send the session text directly to a printer use the Capture to Printer command. When the call is ended the text will be sent directly to your default printer.
